Webcam - Mauna Loa Volcano in Hawaii
Mauna Loa volcano began erupting on November 28, 2022
The volcano’s flow has slowed in recent days, and its behavior suggests the eruption
may soon stop, according to the USGS, though when that could happen is still unclear.
Though lava eruption from the last active fissure continues, the lava oozing down
and the volcanic gas emissions have been greatly reduced.

The Northeast Rift Zone eruption of Mauna Loa continues. One active fissure, fissure 3, is feeding a lava flow downslope to the north. HVO field crews and USGS analysts have accurately mapped some of the most active flows, displayed in red here, along with older flows further uprift, in part of Moku?aweoweo Caldera, and in the upper summit region southwest of the caldera. |
