WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT:
SOUTH KLONDIKE HIGHWAY   (bc52)

Updated: 11:46 AM PST Monday 10 December 2018
Areas Affected: South Klondike Highway - Yukon border to White Pass

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Another strong frontal system will move ashore today.
Snow heavy at times and local blowing snow has developed this morning over the Haines-Skagway Roads and will continue through the day.

Total snowfall amounts near 25 cm at the passes are expected before the snow tapers off overnight or early Tuesday morning.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather in British Columbia or Yukon, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or YTstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm or #YTStorm.
